Obituary- Kay Armour
Our shining light has passed on into the arms of our loving Father and her husband, William Alexander Armour.
Born Kathleen Margaret White February 6th, 1929 – passed peacefully at home August 8th, 2024, at the age of 95 years.
She was preceded by her Husband, William Alexander (Bill) Armour, her parents, Jessie and Wesley White, and her siblings, Mary Botting, Richard White, Eunice Rawn, and Stanley White.
Survived by her children Christine MacKinnon (deceased Raymond MacKinnon), Connie Goetz (David), Gary Armour, Norine Sinclair (deceased David Sinclair), Daniel Armour (Glenna), Patricia Armour Friend, Russell Armour (Carol).
Her pride and joy shone in her eyes when surrounded by her seven Children, 29 Grandchildren, 44 Great-Grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren, Nieces, and nephews.
Mom was a devout member of the Pioneer Memorial United Church Hillside. Although already baptized, Mom renewed her faith and was baptized again in 1996 at her beloved church and also became an official member at the Pioneer Memorial United Church, with Rev Susan Manning. Mom was always willing to give of her time assisting with strawberry socials and special occasion luncheons, and she loved being invited to join in all ceremonies. She was right there, giving her support whenever it was needed. She had a grand time with her “church ladies,” supporting the church and sponsorships, meeting and planning vacations and road trips, and going on local bus tours. She loved their weekly lady get-togethers for tea and treats. I can hear the laughter as Mom is now reunited with her family and friends.
I remember when Mom worked at Brown’s Camp caring for children of all ages and the children would come to our house to see Mom for a hug or two.
Before Mom retired, she worked as a Dietary Aide at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital. Her 12 years, 1981-1993, transpired into true, lasting friendships that she cherished. She would fondly reminisce about those happy times together.
Forever loved and remembered.
